Haiku. To experience life at its most mundane. To experience life as it is, in the seemingly unimportant moments, small, humble, without fanfare. Those whose minds are seeking some great truth, some great revelation, other than the simple rightness of now, will be disappointed. Haiku champions the quiet, often undetected, moments. If you look for a moral, a truth, you lose them. Haiku is about seeing, hearing, touching the world as it is, without explanation. Full contact with the simple reality of now. This is haiku. If you never understand this, haiku will seem like nothing more than a diversion. A pasttime for fools. Either I am the biggest fool, or else haiku has given me new life. Either, I am haiku’s happy fool.
